Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily HR operations for the Malaysia office, including onboarding, offboarding, employee data management, letter issuance, and documentation.
- Coordinate and support local payroll runs, working closely with payroll vendors and finance to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure compliance with the Malaysia Employment Act and other related legislations, acting as the go-to expert for HR-related inquiries regarding local practices, policies, benefits, and procedures.
- Act as the authorised local point of contact for statutory registrations and government-related HR matters (e.g. EPF, SOCSO, EIS) where a Malaysia-based representative is required.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement best practices to drive efficiency within HR operations.
- Develop, review, and maintain HR policies and procedures to ensure alignment with local labor law and organizational goals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and documentation within HR systems and databases.
- Support audits, statutory reporting, and any local government/regulatory submissions.
- Partner with regional HR/People teams to ensure processes are consistent yet locally compliant.
- Take ownership of other HR-related operational projects as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Tertiary education in Human Resources Management or business-related disciplines.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in HR Operations, with strong exposure to Malaysia payroll and employment law.
- Well versed with the Malaysia Employment Act and other related legislations.
- Strong communication skills with a flexible and approachable attitude.
- Strong problem solver with commitment to tackle problems in a positive and logical manner.
- Proactive, responsible, well-organized, and strong team player.
- Tech-savvy, comfortable using HRIS/ AI systems and open to adopting new tools.
- Fluency in English, Mandarin, and Malay is a must, due to the need to liaise with local Malaysian stakeholders and regional teams across different language groups.
