About the Role

We’re looking for someone who blends financial acumen with operational drive — a hands-on operator who can partner with Operations Team, COO & Leadership to run the business side of Alpen Labs as we scale from Seed to Series A.

You’ll bring the discipline of finance and the adaptability of a startup generalist to build scalable systems for decision-making, reporting, and growth

Key Responsibilities

Finance & Strategy

  • Partner with the COO and founders to build Alpen’s financial foundation through Series A: forecasting, burn modelling, and investor reporting.
  • Own day-to-day finance ops — payments, expenses, payroll, vendor management, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Develop the company’s first integrated financial model and help define operating metrics (runway, CAC, headcount efficiency, etc.).
  • Work with external accountants and legal partners to ensure accurate, compliant reporting and filings.

Business Operations & Scaling

  • Design and implement scalable processes for planning, decision-making, and accountability
  • Partner with founders and function leads on cross-functional initiatives

Strategic Projects

  • Drive key operational projects from 0 → 1 (e.g., new entity setup, EOR expansion, crypto-to-fiat payments, or vendor optimisation).
  • Act as a thought partner to the leadership team — bringing structured thinking and operational rigor to fast-moving strategic discussions.

What We’re Looking For in You

  • 3–6 years of experience in finance, business & operations, or a related role.
  • Strong operational execution skills, with attention to detail and a bias for action.
  • Ideally with finance systems, contract workflows, and vendor management.
  • Ability to operate independently and reliably without heavy oversight.
  • Comfortable doing hands-on execution, from payroll checks to contract admin.
  • Prior experience in a startup or scaling company environment.
  • Globally fluent - understands compliance and entity structures across jurisdictions.
  • Knowledgable about Web3 and comfortable working in a high-autonomy, low-ego culture.
  • Bonus - Crypto-native finance experience
